Pimol Srivikorn claimed the Sports Man of the Second Decade at the Akshara King Power Theatre ©World Taekwondo

The Taekwondo Association of Thailand claimed the most awards by the Thai Sports Federation during a ceremony at the Akshara King Power Theatre on February 9.

Due to the major achievements it claimed in the past decades, the Taekwondo Association were awarded four honours, including being named Sports Association of the Third Decade.

Taekwondo Association of Thailand President Pimol Srivikorn, who was awarded Sports Man of the Second Decade, was heavily praised by World Taekwondo (WT) President Chugwon Choue. 

"I offer my sincere congratulations to the Taekwondo Association of Thailand for winning these decades' worth of honours," said WT President Chungwon Choue, who was elected in 2004.

"This shows the achievements of Taekwondo Association of Thailand under the leadership of Pimol Srivikorn."

Panipak Wongpattanakit won the Athlete of the 3rd Decade in recognition of her illustrious career, which included two Olympic medals, bronze at Rio 2016 and gold at Tokyo 2020, in the women's under-49 kilograms category.  

Wongpattanakit is also a Youth Olympic champion, two-time world champion, and has won nine Grand Prix gold medals. 

Her coach Youngseok Choi won The Moment of the Third Decade and Memories of the Decade for her contribution to Wongpattanakit's achievements.
