Brazilian Nathalie Moellhausen claimed the women’s individual épée title at the International Fencing Federation Fencing World Cup in Barcelona.

Competition took place at the INEFC Barcelona, and attracted more than 300 participants from 54 countries.

Moellhausen, who won individual gold at the 2019 World Championships in Budapest, took the crown after beating Young Mi Kang of South Korea 15-8 in the final.

Earlier in the tournament, competing on the main tableau of eight, Moellhausen beat Italian Alberta Santuccio 15-10, before defeating Mallo 15-11.

Individual bronze medals went to Yiwen Sun of China and Auriane Mallo of France.

In the team competition South Korea’s line-up of Young Mi Kang, Hyein Lee, Sera Song and Danwoo Yu won gold after overcoming Italy’s team of Rossella Fiamingo, Federica Isola, Mara Navarria and Alberta Santuccio 34-27.

China were victorious in the bronze-medal match, with their team of Lin Sheng, Sun Yiwen, Xu Nuo and Yu Sihan defeating Estonia 45-38.
