Cham Djadoued Nhari won the men's race in 33:17 to beat Ugandan Lawrence Lorot and countryman Nasrallah Essemiani who were seven and 13 seconds behind respectively.

Siham Bousba and Malak Mechab then secured an Algerian one-two in the women's race with the latter clocking in 35 seconds after Bousba's leading 18:56.

They were joined in the top three by bronze medallist Alemu Keno of Ethiopia in 20:02.
