The Polish Teqball Association (PZTEQ) has entered a partnership with Warsaw's School of Education in Sport to hold regular training sessions at the institution.

Marcin Szyda, the director of Polish referees who is qualified by the International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ), is set to run fortnightly two-hour lessons focusing on teqball's practical side and the growth of the sport.

He plans to educate students on the sport's creation, its development and the role and future of FITEQ and the PZTEQ.

These sessions are due to form part of the School of Education in Sport's curriculum.

Practical sessions are also due to be held on a teq table at the university for new students and experienced players.

Poland's men's national football team captain and record goalscorer Robert Lewandowski, Tokyo 2020 men's hammer throw bronze medallist and five-time world champion Paweł Fajdek and ski jumper Piotr Żyła are among the notable alumni from the School of Education in Sport.

Teqball was invented in Hungary, and is played on a curved table combining elements of football and table tennis.

FITEQ, which was established as its governing body in 2017, holds ambitions for eventual inclusion at the Olympics, but teqball was not among the nine sports shortlisted for additional places at Los Angeles 2028.

Poland is one of the sport's leading nations, hosting the World Championships in Gliwice in 2021.

At last year's World Championships in Nuremberg, Adrian Duszak won silver in the men's singles and bronze with Alicja Bartnicka in the mixed doubles.

Teqball is also set to make its European Games debut later this year in Kraków-Małopolska.
