Korea Baseball Organization manager Lee Kang-Chul and players currently training are set to gather at a hotel in the city for an orientation and media conference.

The squad are also due to pick up their uniforms and go over tournament rules.

Some members of the 30-man squad are training on their own in the United States, with many of the older members of the squad currently in South Korea.

Pool B features South Korea alongside Japan, Australia, China and the Czech Republic.

In total 20 teams are set to take part in the event across four pools, with defending champions the United States in Pool C and top seeds Japan in Pool A.

The South Korean team are due to hold a training camp in Tucson, Arizona, from February 13 to 28.

South Korea are set to open their World Baseball Classic campaign against Australia on March 9.

South Korea’s squad features three Major League Baseball players - Kim Ha-Seong of the San Diego Padres, Choi Ji-Man of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Tommy Edman from the St Louis Cardinals, born in the United States to a Korean mother and an American father.

The tournament is being co-hosted by Taiwan, Japan and the United States with South Korea due to play their pool matches in Japan.
