Hosts Canada, who were 2-0 down at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, recorded a stunning 6-2 comeback win to claim their spot in the final.

Meanwhile, the Czech Republic edged the Swedes 2-1 to seal their first gold-medal match appearance in 22 years.

Logan Cooley and Kenny Connors gave the United States a 2-0 lead but it was the Canadian goalkeeper who stole the show after that.

Thomas Milic made a stunning 43 saves to restrict the United States after that.

For Canada, Joshua Roy led from the front with two goals and two assists.

Connor Bedard, Logan Stankoven, Adam Fantilli and Brandt Clarke contributed the other goals and also had an assist each.

"I think that was a amazing game to beat the USA," Roy said.

"That was the team we wanted to beat, and we were down 2-0.

"And then we came back, and the crowd was amazing.

"So just an amazing moment for us. We didn't panic."

In the other semi-final, Jiri Kulich scored with 50 seconds left in overtime to help the Czech Republic to victory.

The Swedes took the lead thanks to Ludvig Jansson's second-period goal before David Jiricek levelled it for the Czechs in the third period.

But Kulich scored a sensational winner towards the end to break Swedish hearts as he cut in off the right wing to beat Carl Lindbom.
