Portugal's Rui Jorge Leitão has been named the athlete representative on the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ) Executive Board, sitting as a member after winning an election.

Leitao secured 22 of the 23 votes, winning 96 per cent, with the only other candidate being Maria Chedid from Lebanon, who received one.

"Congratulations to the elected representative and thank you for the participation," said FITEQ in a statement.

There are now six members on the Executive Board of FITEQ, following the recent resignation of Marius Vizer Jr as general secretary.
