German Sebastian Koerdel and Italian Marta Maggetti are in pole position heading into medal racing on the final day of the iQFOiL World Championships in Brest.

Koerdel concluded day five comfortably on top of the men's event following two races finishes - 35th and 18th - that were discarded.

Dutchman Huig Jan Tak, who is third, impressed the most by coming first then second while compatriot Luuc Opzeeland - the second-place sailor - recorded finishes in fifth and third.

The men's event did enjoy a big surprise as Poland’s Kamil Manoweicki, in 41st, finished sixth and then top.

In the women's competition, leader Maggetti enters tomorrow’s medal race after a mixed day.
