The Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV) has revamped its organisational structure, appointing six divisional managers to head up various elements of the governing body.

The restructure divides the ÖSV's management into six areas of responsibility.

Roman Kuss has been named head of association development and sports coordination, a department which is set to oversee the strategic development of the organisation.

The long-serving Rupert Steger has been appointed as events manager, with Mario Reiter responsible for sponsorship and partner management.

Marketing and communication is led by Christiane Gasser, with Michael Gufler in charge of technology.

Florian Phleps completes the ÖSV's structure, overseeing the newly established corporate services and project management division from October 3.

ÖSV President Roswitha Stadlober explained that the move aimed to modernise the governing body.

"We want to position ourselves more broadly for future challenges and see this organisational development as a necessary step in further development, which not only includes structural changes, but also a change in corporate culture," Stadlober said.

General secretary Christian Scherer added that he believed the move would improve how the ÖSV operates.

"With the new organisational structure, we want to optimise work processes throughout the Ski Austria Group in order to become even more agile and efficient overall and to give more impetus to addressing the entire snow sports family," Scherer commented.

The move coincides with Austria being awarded the International Ski and Snowboard Federation Alpine World Ski Championships in Saalbach in 2025.

It is one of the leading nations in the sport, having won more Alpine skiing gold medals at the Winter Olympics than any other country.
