Heading for three titles in a row, The Netherlands are set to get their campaign underway at the Women's International Hockey Federation (FIH) Hockey World Cup on home soil in Amstelveen.

Amstelveen is one of the two locations for the World Cup, with Spain also acting as hosts in Terrassa.

Pool A features the defending champions, as well as 2018 runners-up Ireland, Germany and Chile.

The Netherlands are the most successful team in the competition, having won the World Cup eight times.

Amstelveen is also set to hold Pool B events, with England in a competitive group with New Zealand, India and China - with all matches also set to take place at the Wagener Stadium.

Hosts Spain are set to face two-time champions Argentina in Pool C at the Estadi Olímpic de Terrassa, with South Korea and Canada making up the rest.

In seven of the last eight World Cups, Australia have made the final four and will hope to replicate that form in Pool D, with their opponents set to be Belgium, Japan and South Africa.

The four teams that finish first in their pools advance to the quarter-finals, while those in second and third play cross-over matches to get their spot in the last eight.

Only the bottom team in each pool is to be eliminated, to then play in classification matches from places ninth to 16th with the losers of the cross-overs.

The final is scheduled to take place on July 17 in Terassa, which is set to hold all the matches from the semi-finals onwards.
