Daria Atamanov delighted the home crowd in Israel as she won the all-around title at the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships.

The Israeli amassed 136.900 over four disciplines at the Expo Tel Aviv to clinch the biggest victory of her career so far.

The 16-year-old topped the standings for the ball and clubs events and finished second in the hoop as well as the ribbon categories on her way to the memorable gold.

Bulgaria's Boryana Kaleyn got off to a storming start in the Mediterranean city as she topped the table with the hoop.

However, the world championships silver medallist was unable to maintain her high level and posted a final score of 135.500 points.

Her compatriot, world championships silver medallist Stiliana Nikolova, snuck onto the podium in third with 131.650 points ahead of Italy's Sofia Raffaeli.

The nine-time world cup winner was in contention for gold but an 11th-place finish in the ribbon, the last event, derailed her medal hopes and left her just outside the top three with 131.250 points.

Kaleyn and Nikolova combined to win the team event for Bulgaria with 333.150 points ahead of Raffaeli and her team-mate Milena Baldassari's 325.600 and Israeli pair Atamanov and Adi Asya Katz on 324.300 points.

Israel won yet another medal, this time in the group all-around which consists of two events: five hoops and three ribbons and two balls.

The hosts scored 69.950 points as they won the hoops contest before finishing runner-up in the ball and ribbon.

Italy, whose results were the other way round, notched 69.650 points while Azerbaijan won bronze with 65.400 points.
