The 2015 Pan American Games champion secured the lightweight women's single sculls title in 7 mins 32.08 secs to edge Australia’s Georgia Nesbitt and Germany’s Marie-Louise Drager.

Matthew Dunham of New Zealand bettered Ireland’s Fintan McCarthy and Uruguay's Felipe Kluver Ferreira in the men’s event after he made 6:43.07.

Denmark was victorious in the lightweight men’s quadruple sculls thanks to the effort of Rasmus Soendergaard Konnerup, Johannes Jakobsen, Johan Poulsen and Magnus Oddershede.

The Danes completed the race with a time of 6:01.33, beating Ukraine and Thailand.

Oleksii Siabro, Roman Biedarov, Vladyslav Yakhniienko and Denis Diachenko rowed Ukraine to second while Sornram Sinlapasorn, Chanin Srisomboon, Siwakorn Wongpin and Nawamin Dechudomrat finished third for Thailand.

In the women's four, Australia, whose team consisted of Olympic champions Annabelle McIntyre and Lucy Stephan, topped the semi-final A/B 1 in front of The Netherlands and the US.

Olympians Eimear Lambe and Aifric Keogh also led Ireland to the A-final in the semi-final A/B 2 alongside Beth Ross' New Zealand and Avalon Wasteneys' and Sydeny Payne's Canada.

The Netherlands' Karolien Florijn towered above the women's single sculls semi-final A/B 1 competition while France's Matthieu Androdias also impressed, topping the other semi-final.

Melvin Twellaar of the Netherlands and Matthieu Androdias of France are set to meet again in the men's single sculls A-final.

Three world records were broken in the Paralympic disciplines.

The Netherlands' Marinus Corné de Koning set a time of 8 mins 20.61 secs to win the PR2 men’s single sculls. 

Ireland’s Katie O’Brien also made history by recording 9:14.95 to triumph in the PR2 women’s single sculls and France’s Jerome Hamelin and Laurent Cadot achieved the same feat in the PR3 men’s pair after notching at 6:52.08.

Ludovica Tramontin and Greta Elizabeth Muti of Italy topped the PR3 women’s pair final, clocking time of 8:08.57.

The competition is scheduled to conclude tomorrow.
