Schloesser lived up to expectations as the top seed in the men’s competition, defeating Turkish archer Yakup Yıldız 148-146.

The pair were joined on the podium by Estonian Robin Jaatma, who was taken to a shoot-off against Slovakian Jozef Bosansky.

With both tied at 148-148, it was Jaatma who took the bronze medal by shooting closer to the target with a single arrow.

Carpenter took her first European title by beating France's Sophie Dodemont 143-141 in the women's compound final.

Ayse Bera Suzer of Turkey completed the line-up on the podium with a 144-142 victory over Italian Elisa Roner.

Carpenter had more to smile about in the women's team compound final, which she won for Britain with individual top seed Ella Gibson and Jessica Stretton.

They defeated Italy's Marcella Tonioli, Sara Ret and Elisa Roner - who knocked Gibson out in the quarter-finals before losing to Carpenter in the semi-finals - 232-229.

Bronze went to the Turkish team of Yesim Bostan, Ayse Bera Suzer and Songul Luk who won 231-226 against Lisell Jaatma, Maris Tetsmann and Meeri-Marita Paas of Estonia.

Schloesser could not take men's team gold as he and his Dutch team-mates Sil Pater and Stef Willems, lost 238-230 against Turkey's Emircan Haney, Yakup Yildiz and Batuhan Akcaoglu.

Austrians Nico Weiner, Stefan Heincz and Michael Matzner claimed bronze with a 233-227 defeat of Tim Jevsnik, Aljaz Matija Brenk and Stas Modic of Slovenia.

Finally, Denmark's Tanja Gellenthien and Stephan Hansen won the mixed compound team final 156-153 against Lisell and Robin Jaatma from Estonia.

Completing the podium were the Turkish pair Yesim Bostan and Emircan Haney, who defeated Belgium's Sarah Prieels and Quinten van Looy 156-155.
