Hosts Germany and The Netherlands are to meet in the recurve mixed team final following victories in their respective semi-finals at the European Archery Championships in Munich.

The pairing of Gaby Schloesser and Rick van der Ven defeated Ukraine's Veronika Marchenko and Oleksii Hunbin 6-0 to make it into the battle for gold.

Germany made it too thanks to the efforts of Michelle Kroppen and Florian Unruh, who finished 5-1 victors over Italians Tatiana Andreoli and Mauro Nespoli.

In the compound mixed team semi-finals, Denmark's Tanja Gellenthien and Stephan Hansen defeated Sarah Prieels and Quinten van Looy of Belgium 156-153, setting up a final showdown with Estonia.

Their team of Lisell and Robin Jaatma defeated Turkey's Yesim Bostan and Emircan Haney in a shoot-off after both teams finished tied at 154-154.

In the men's compound second round, Slovenian Aljaz Brenk defeated Finland's Matti Tella 143-141, meaning he is to face Dutch top seed Mike Schloesser in the next.

Second seed Nico Wiener of Austria is to meet Estonian Kristjan Ilves in round three after his opponent defeated Sweden's Joakim Limas 145-136.

Top women's compound seed Ella Gibson of Britain is to face Sandra Jankowska of Poland in the second round after her opponent won a shoot-off with Ingrid Ronacher of Austria.

Spain's Andrea Muñoz has set up a second round match with Danish archer Tanja Gellenthien after beating Maria-Joao Ribeiro of Portugal 147-139.

Moldova's Dan Olaru was able to defeat Theo Carbonetti of Belgium 6-0 in the men's recurve tournament, rewarding himself with a third-round match against top seed Florian Unruh of Germany.

Kacper Sierakowski defeated Verne Vuorinen of Finland 6-0 as well, setting up a match against second seed Miguel Alvarino Garcia of Spain.

Women's recurve top seed Michelle Kroppen of Germany is to meet Denmark's Kirstine Andersen in the third round after the latter won 6-4 against Urska Cavic.

Maria Nasoula of Greece won 6-2 against Czech Republic's Marie Horackova to set up a third-round match with British second seed Penny Healey.
