Tiffany Foster is due to lead Canada's delegation at the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) Jumping Nations Cup on home soil in Langley.

At the event, Foster is set to ride Hamilton, her 11-year-old Holsteiner gelding, in what is due to be her second Nations Cup of the season with her first in March in Mexico where the Canadians finished second to the host team.

The Thunderbird Show Park, colloquially known as tbird, is set to hold the event in the British Columbian city.

"I'm always excited to return to compete at Thunderbird, this is my home show, so I always look forward to it," said 2015 Pan American Games gold medallist Foster, as reported by the Vancouver Sun.

"I think most riders get a boost from the crowd and I personally love to compete in front of a large crowd, especially when that crowd is full of my friends and family!

"Hamilton has competed in 2020 and 2021 at Thunderbird and has been clear in all of his Grand Prix appearances so far at tbird."

Leading the Canadian team on the ground will be team manager and four-time Olympian Eric Lamaze.

For the Olympic gold, silver and bronze medal-winner there is only one result that will do when it comes to the Langley event.

"The riders want to win there," Lamaze told the Vancouver Sun.

"I'm excited to bring this team home to Canada and I want everyone to see what we have accomplished.

"I fully intend to win that Nations Cup; we’re not losing it."

In the Nations Cup, each team’s four horse-rider combinations jump a course of 12 obstacles that reach a maximum height of 1.60 metres and a maximum width of two metres.

The Langley event is part of the Nations Cup's North and Central America and Caribbean division, which is contested by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

The top point earner from the group, currently Mexico, will advance to the Nations Cup final in Barcelona set to take place in September.
