Polish home favourite Katarzyna Szperkiewicz impressed in reaching the women's C1 200 metres final at the International Canoe Federation Canoe Sprint World Cup in Poznań.

It was another day in which competition was impacted by weather conditions, with the start of racing pushed back, and scheduled finals postponed until tomorrow.

However, Szperkiewicz impressed in winning her semi-final by more than one second at the Malta Regatta Course.

She posted a time of 47.28sec, with Britain's Katie Reid and Poland's Magda Stanny also progressing in 48.71 and 48.77 respectively.

From the other semi-final, Katherin Nuevo Segura of Cuba posted the fastest time of 46.15, followed by Canada's C2 500m Olympic bronze medallist Katie Vincent on 46.77 and Georgia's Mariami Kerdikashvili on 47.94.

Slovenia's Anja Osterman, European champion in the K2 200m, was the fastest of the nine qualifiers for the women's K1 200m final, recording a time of 40.98.
