Defending champion Peder Fredricson of Sweden is set to be one of the star attractions when competition continues on equestrian's Global Champions Tour at Ramatuelle in St Tropez tomorrow.

Fredricson is down in 61st position after the first four events of the 2022 competition but he won Olympic team gold in Tokyo last year and was the overall champion in 2021 - a campaign which included victory in St Tropez to take home the €99,000 (£84,000/$103,660) prize.

Fredricson is set to compete onboard his Olympic gold medal winning mount "All In" in St Tropez.

His Tokyo team mate and compatriot Henrik Von Eckermann is also set to start this weekend on King Edward.

Von Eckermann worked for 12 years at the stables of the experienced German rider Ludger Beerbaum, an Olympic gold medallist at four consecutive Olympics from 1988.

Beerbaum is top of the overall standings with 99 points after victories in both Doha and Mexico City on Mila but will again be watching events in St Tropez from home after opting to miss the event.

Netherlands rider Sanne Thijssen won the Grand Prix last week in Madrid in a dramatic event which saw Brazil's Marlon Zanotelli and Ireland's Darragh Kenny clock identical times in second.

French eyes will be on Simon Delestre who rides Hermes Ryan and will also have Tinka’s Hero available.

Britain’s Scott Brash, who won gold in the team jumping at London 2012 is also ready to start and has brought both Hello Mr President and Hello Shelby to the south of France.

Previous winners in St Tropez include Jessica Springsteen, daughter of singer Bruce, who won Olympic team silver in Tokyo for the United States.

The event is expected to attract over 100 riders and 200 horses.

In keeping with the venue’s glamorous reputation, a champagne bar is expected to open from sunrise to sunset with international DJs playing each night at a St Tropez "after party."
