The men’s doubles final was another one-sided affair, with Italian duo Rizzi and Alessio Cocciolo running out 13-1 winners over Molinas Maiky and Molinas Joseph of Switzerland.

The Championships were organised by the Danish Petanque Association, in partnership with Greve Municipality, Sport Event Denmark and Karlslunde Sports Club.

President of the Danish Petanque Association Lars Friis spoke of his pride following the Championships.

"I am proud of all the Danish results and not least grateful for the efforts of the volunteers," said Friis.

"Without them, we would not have been able to stage the event. Together with Greve Municipality and Sport Event Denmark, we can now look back on a Championship where we promoted the sport within Denmark and Denmark within the international world of petanque."
