Scotland are the only unbeaten team remaining at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship after recording two further wins in Geneva, as Italy tasted defeat for the first time.

Eve Muirhead and Bobby Lammie lead Group B after winning their opening six matches at the Sous-Moulin Sports Centre.

The Scottish pairing overcame Germany 8-4 in their first-round robin match of the day, before recording a 7-2 win over the United States to conclude a successful day.

Canada are second in the standings with five wins and one defeat.

Jocelyn Peterman and Brett Gallant enjoyed two dominant wins today, overcoming Hungary 10-1 after six ends before a 10-4 triumph against the Czech Republic.

United States are third in the Group B standings on four wins and two defeats, with the Czech Republic and Hungary tied for fourth after three wins and three losses.

Italy’s Stefania Constantini and Sebastiano Arman relinquished their perfect record in Group A, losing their only match of the day.

Constantini and Arman conceded defeat to Isabella and Rasmus Wranaa of Sweden after the seventh end of their match, when they fell 7-4 behind.

The Italian pairing remain top of the Group A standings with six matches played, following five wins and one defeat.

Isabella and Rasmus Wranaa form part of the chasing pack, with the Swedish team one of four tied for second place on four wins and two defeats.

Japan’s Chiaki Matsumura and Yasumasa Tanida are part of the group, following their 11-3 win over South Korea’s Kim Minji and Lee Ki-jeong.

Switzerland’s Alina Paetz and Sven Michel had the opportunity to join the Italian team at the top of the standings.

The home pairing missed out on the chance after losing 9-3 to Norway’s Maia and Magnus Ramsfjell, with the two pairings forming part of the four-team tie for second place.

Group matches are scheduled to continue for the next two days.

The group winners will automatically advance to the semi-finals.

The second and third placed teams will playoff for the right to advance to the semi-finals, due to be played on Friday (April 29).

Gold and bronze medal matches are scheduled to take place on Saturday (April 30).
