Norway's Jon-Hermann Hegg and Anna Korakaki of Greece have finished top of qualification on the latest day of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Rio de Janeiro.

Hegg recorded a total of 591 points - including a near-perfect prone score of 199 out of 200 - to qualify top of the men's 50-metre rifle three positions qualification.

Behind him in second was Czech Republic's Petr Nymbursky with 589, but he was not eligible to progress to the finals, competing only for ranking points.

Hegg's compatriot Henrik Larsen was third, also on 589, while fourth-placed Nickolaus Mowrer from the United States bagged 588 points.

Alexis Raynaud and Brian Baudouin of France and Simon Claussen from Norway all qualified with a mark of 588, as did Jan Lochbihler from Switzerland and Jiri Privratsky of Czech Republic on 587.

The final qualifier saw Serbia's Milenko Sebic score 586.

Korakaki scored 295 points in the women's 25m pistol to set the standard prior to tomorrow's final.

Doreen Vennekamp of Germany was second on 294, Alexis Lagan of the US was third on 293 and Thailand's Tanyaporn Prucksakorn placed fourth on 292.

Also on 292 in fifth was Camille Jedrzejewski of France.
