Israel and Egypt concluded the Junior and Cadet Fencing World Championships with team victories in the women's and men's épée events in Dubai.

In the women's event, Israel defeated Romania 45-31 in the quarter-finals and then Sweden 45-38 in the semi-finals.

They faced Poland in the final, who defeated Britain 44-35 in the quarter-finals and the United States 39-34 in the final four.

Israel claimed the gold medal by beating Poland 45-42 in the decider.

The US clinched bronze by beating Sweden 45-43, while Romania finished fifth with a 41-40 victory over Britain.

Egypt defeated Kazakhstan 45-39 in the quarter-finals and France 45-35 in the semi-finals to make the final of the men's competition.

Joining them was the US, who won 45-43 against Hungary, followed by a 43-37 defeat of Switzerland.

Egypt won the gold with a 45-40 win over the Americans.

France won the bronze after beating Switzerland 45-39 and Ukraine's 45-43 victory over Poland placed them fifth.
