The Macau China Floorball General Association and Kazakhstan Floorball Federation have been accepted as provisional members of the International Floorball Federation (IFF).

The pair were inducted at the third IFF Central Board meeting of the year which took place in the Swiss city of Zurich.

"It's a big day for us!", said the Macau China Floorball General Association on social media.

"We made it!"

During the event, the Board discussed the future of floorball and upcoming events including five Men's World Floorball Championships qualifying events from April 29 to June 6.

The governing body will then turn their focus to the main tournament which is scheduled to take place in Zurich and Winterthur in Switzerland from November 5 to 11 later in the year.

In addition to the two approved members, the Chinese Taipei Floorball Federation was also awaiting a decision on its acceptance but that was postponed until later in 2022.

It was pushed back at the request of the Chinese Floorball Union as it wanted to "make some clarifications", according to IFF.

The Board also reviewed the IFF Associations' Meeting SWOT analysis for its Future of Floorball development programme.

The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the proposal concluded that it needed to collate a frequently asked questions section for the Future of Floorball.

The CB also discussed the structure of the senior World Floorball Championships (WFCs) and gave the IFF Rules and Competition Committee the task to evaluate the current system for the WFCs.
