Captain Matilda Svenler was among Sweden’s goalscorers in the contest, with Tilda Ström, Moa Friman, Mathilda Eklund, Emelie Åkerlund, Ida Friman, and Emma Ahlander also finding the net.

Sweden finished the match as 12-0 winners, sealing a fourth-consecutive world title and extending their record to 10 in total.

Norway will be able to look back on their best finish at the tournament, with the second place adding to six previous bronze medal finishes at the event.

Norway are now the third team to have appeared in the Women’s World Championship final, with all previous matches having been contested by Sweden and Russia.

Russia were excluded from this year’s event, following the nation’s invasion of Ukraine.

Finland secured the bronze medal at the event for the sixth time, after overcoming the United States 5-2 in the playoff.

Finland’s captain Linda Lohiniva and Susanna Simola scored their goals during the match, with two efforts from US captain Amy Stech only proving a consolation for her team.

The Netherlands overcame Britain 1-0 in the B-Pool final, giving them a fifth-place finish at the tournament.

Meinke Gommans scored the only goal of the match.

Estonia finished seventh after beating Switzerland 4-2, with Amanda Andreasson and Kirke Kalde both scoring twice in the match.
