Xavier Gachet led a trio of French competitors placed from fourth to sixth with his 1:25:05.9 effort.

The men's race featured a 1,632 metres difference in altitude, and the women's race 1,302m.

Lisa Moreschini of Italy took the women's under-23 title with her 12^th place finish in the senior race, and Switzerland's Aurélien Gay won the men's under-23 crown with a top 10 finish.

Youth Olympic Games champion Caroline Ulrich of Switzerland won her third gold of the Championships in the under-20 women's individual race, while France's Anselme Damevin triumphed in the men's equivalent.

Ida Waldal of Norway added a second gold from Boí Taüll to her collection in the under-18 women's race, with Carlos Torres Espigares collecting a victory for hosts Spain in the men's competition.

The ISMF European Championships are set to conclude with the youth and senior mixed relay races tomorrow, in which teams will consist of a male and female athlete.
