Hyacinthe Deleplace finished first among the men with visual impairments in a time of 1min 51.92, beating Britain's Neil Simpson by 0.90sec.

Miroslav Haraus of Slovakia was the bronze medallist, another 0.43sec behind Simpson.

The other title which went to France was in the men's standing race, claimed by Arthur Bauchet in 1:49.22.

His only challenger of substance was Aleksei Bugaev of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) who was 0.84sec behind.

Some way adrift for the bronze medal was Italian Federico Pelizzari.

Italy did win gold in the men's sitting race, thanks to Renè de Silvestro, who clocked a time of 1:53.65.

De Silvestro held off home favourite Jesper Pedersen of Norway by 0.18sec for the title; Niels de Langen of The Netherlands completed the podium.

Britain were first and second in the women's race for athletes with visual impairments, but it was Millie Knight who got to the line the quickest in 2:12.10. 

Menna Fitzpatrick was 0.52sec back in second and Choi Sara of South Korea third.

The RPC added another gold medal to their World Para Snow Sports Championships tally after Varvara Voronchikhina defeated eight-time Paralympic champion Marie Bochet of France to the women's standing title by 0.96sec.

Finally, Anna-Lena Forster from Germany claimed gold in the women's sitting race, far ahead of Canadian Katie Combaluzier.
