The top qualifiers Andri Ragettli and Tess Ledeux triumphed in the men's and women's slopestyle finals respectively at the Freeski World Cup in Font Romeu.

Swiss world champion Ragettli was competing in his first World Cup of the season, and having top scored in qualifying on Friday (January 14), he earned gold with an 86.36 effort on his first run.

New Zealand's Ben Barclay secured a maiden World Cup podium finish as his 82.71 earned second place, as did Édouard Therriault of Canada in third as he scored 81.71.

Therriault's compatriots Teal Harle and Mark Hendrickson just missed out on the top three with scores of 81.46 and 80.63 respectively.

A 78.73 for Switzerland's Fabian Bösch secured him sixth place, and moved him top of the slopestyle standings for the season on 114 points, three clear of the United States' Alex Hall who did not compete in the French resort.

Barclay has 102 points for the season, just two short of American Nick Goepper.

The 2017 slopestyle world champion Ledeux picked up her second Freeski World Cup win of the season, following up her big air victory in Chur in October.

The home favourite comfortably triumphed with 86.46 points in the final, putting her third for the season on the Freeski World Cup circuit.

American Marin Hamill finished second, although was some way short of Ledeux with her 73.56 points, with Austria's Lara Wolf third with 66.16.

Kelly Sildaru of Estonia had won both of the previous slopestyle events this season, but did not compete in Font Romeu.

She has 200 points for the season in the discipline, with Hamill second on 136.

The next slopestyle World Cup events are scheduled for March 5 in Bakuriani in Georgia.
