Ireland's Conor Swail won his third event of the North American League (NAL) season at the International Equestrian Federation's Jumping World Cup in Fort Worth, with the Texan city making its debut hosting a competition on the circuit.

The overall NAL leader was one of eight riders who progressed from the first round with no faults, in a time of 67.42sec.

He was also free of penalties in the jump-off, and clocked a winning time of 33.18.

Swail triumphed on Vital Chance de la Roque in Vancouver and Sacramento earlier in the season, but competed on Count Me In for this leg of the World Cup.

"I decided to bring [Count Me In] here for a few reasons," Swail explained.

"He was up in Thermal for a few weeks, and this was a stop on our way back to Wellington.

"The other reason is that it gives me another option if I decide to go to World Cup Finals.

"The horse that you use [at the Finals] has to have competed [on at least one qualifier]."

Canadian Tiffany Foster finished second on Figor with a time of 33.27 in the jump-off, in which she was last to compete.

Foster is second in the season's overall ranking.

Ailish Cunniffe ensured there was a home presence on the podium for the United States as a 35.57 jump-off time with Vivaldi du Theil earned third place.

Sitting on 63 points, Swail holds a four-point lead over Foster at the top of the NAL Jumping World Cup standings, with American Natalie Dean third on 41.
