Canada is set to stage the event for the second successive year after the 2020-2021 edition was held behind closed doors in Edmonton.

No spectators were allowed into Rogers Place as players competed in a bio-secure bubble in a bid to mitigate the risk of catching COVID-19.

The latest edition, scheduled to run from December 26 in 2021 to January 5 in 2022, is set to be the first IIHF event hosted by Hockey Canada that will feature fans since the start of the coronavirus pandemic as this year’s Women’s World Championship also took place without spectators.

Hockey Canada has now launched three ticket packages but stated that fans must be fully vaccinated to gain entry to the venues.

"There is a tremendous amount of anticipation for the World Juniors to return to Edmonton and Red Deer after last year’s event without fans, and we are excited to launch three great ticket packages and allow fans to secure their seats to see the top under-20 players in the world," said Riley Wiwchar, executive director of the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship.

"We look forward to welcoming fans back into the stands, and we encourage everyone to take advantage of these great packages and be a part of the World Juniors experience."

Two eight-game ticket packages are available for Rogers Place and start at $495 (£374/€440).

The "Edmonton Half-Package A" features one ticket for preliminary-round games, including Canada’s New Year’s Eve clash against Finland and their quarter-final and semi-final matches, should they qualify as expected, and the bronze-medal match.

The "Edmonton Half-Package B" also consists of five preliminary-round fixtures, including Canada’s games against Austria on December 28 and Germany on December 29 as well as the first quarter-final, first semi-final and gold-medal match.

A 16-game ticket package for the Peavey Mart Centrium in Red Deer is also available starting as low as $560 (£423/€498).

It includes two of Canada’s pre-tournament games and all 10 preliminary-round fixtures featuring Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States, as well as two relegation games and two quarter-finals.
