Mike Titheradge has been re-appointed manager of the Australian men's softball team and will lead the side at next year's World Cup in New Zealand.

It will be Titheradge's eighth time managing the Aussie Steelers at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Men's Softball World Cup, which was previously branded by the International Softball Federation as the Men's World Championship.

Titheradge was manager when Australia won the 2009 edition.

It remains Australia's only gold medal.

Titheradge also managed the Australian team that won the 2018 WBSC Junior Men’s Softball Championship, and has been in the Softball Australia Hall of Fame since 2015.

The next Men's Softball World Cup is due to be played from November 26 to December 4 in Auckland.

It was scheduled for February of this year, but was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Two of the 12 teams at the World Cup are set to come from Oceania.
