Russian athletes were competing under the RSF banner due to sanctions imposed by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

But it made no difference to the end result as Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 - played instead of the country’s national anthem - rang out at the Yunusobod Sport Complex.

After a slow start to the tournament by their high standards, the RSF came through with flying colours to win four of the seven gold medals on offer today.

The RSF topped the medal standings with eight golds, six silvers and four bronzes as hosts Uzbekistan came second.

Osipenko exemplified the team’s performance on the final day as he showed great composure to capture the men’s over-98 kilograms title.

As the leading figure within the team, a lot of pressure was on his shoulders.

But Osipenko looked almost indestructible, comfortably dispatching Ukrainian Alieksiei Moisieiev in the final.

Batsuuri Namsraijav of Mongolia and Ilie Natae of Romania both claimed bronze in the division.

Osipenko’s gold was the second of three in quick succession as the RSF finished the competition off in style.

Olga Artoshina got the first of those, setting the tone with a comprehensive victory over Ukrainian Anastasiia Komovych to secure women's over-80kg gold.

There was no stopping Artoshina who powered into a 4-0 lead before finishing off the match at the halfway point.

Elene Kebadze of Georgia and Maryia Kondratsyeva of Belarus were the bronze medallists.

Magomedov Magomed then claimed a third successive gold for the RSF, defeating Sokhibjon Khasanboev of Uzbekistan in the combat under-88kg final.

Roared on by the home crowd, Khasanboev took a 2-0 lead before Magomed clawed his way back into the contest.

Magomed drew level at 2-2 before landing a crucial punch to the face that Khasanboev was unable to pick himself up from.

The bronze medals went to Petro Davydenko of Ukraine and Umar Yankovskiy of Kazakhstan.

The RSF’s other gold medal came in the combat under-71kg division as Ruslan Gasankhanov dominated Zygimantas Ramaska of Lithuania from start to finish.

Istam Kudratov of Uzbekistan and Abdylla Babayev of Turkmenistan picked up the bronze medals.

Alongside the RSF’s quartet of victories, there was also gold-medal success for Ukraine, Belarus and hosts Uzbekistan.

Nodirjon Merhalikov denied the RSF another gold when he withstood heavy pressure from Anton Konovalov before emerging victorious from the men’s under-98kg tussle.

It was Uzbekistan’s third gold of the tournament as they finished second in the medal table behind the RSF and ahead of Belarus.

Michel Gerard Vanlier of Cameroon and Yaroslav Davydchuk of Ukraine also secured podium spots after winning their bronze medal bouts.

Sviatlana Tsimashenka of Belarus produced a powerful performance to defeat Halyna Kovalska of Ukraine as she secured the women's under-80kg gold.

Mariya Oryashkova of Bulgaria recovered from an opening-round defeat to claim bronze as Ivana Jandric of Serbia also secured third spot.

Vladyslav Rudniev of Ukraine proved too strong in all departments as he overcame home favourite Furket Ruziev to claim combat under-79kg gold.

Rudniev went immediately on the front foot with a flurry of punches to open the scoring.

Ruziev was under heavy siege as another punch to the face resulted in his gumshield flying across the mat.

Rudniev doubled his advantage to 2-0 going into the final minute.

He had to receive medical treatment on a couple of occasions, while blood was whipped off the mat.

Ruziev tried to respond but struggled to find a way through Rudniev who clinched victory.

Tabrezsho Parpishoev of Tajikistan and Rusdem Penjiyev of Turkmenistan took the other podium places.
