Germany's Stephanie Schneider narrowly claimed her second victory in the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) Women's Monobob World Series in Lillehammer.

Schneider pipped Dutchwoman Karlien Sleper to the win for the second day running after finishing her two runs in a combined 1min 51.16sec while her rival crossed the line 0.35sec later.

Schneider's compatriot Lisa Buckwitz rounded out the podium, finishing in 1:51.61.

Today's action concluded the Series' double-header in Norway.

The event featured a largely European field after the season's opener in Whistler last week was mainly attended by North American racers.

Canada's Alysia Rissling dominated in British Columbia, taking pole position in all three races, but did not feature in Lillehammer.

The competition takes on added importance as the women's monobob is set to make its Olympic debut at Beijing 2022.

There are 20 quota places available at the Games, with the IBSF women's bobsleigh combined ranking list used to determine which athletes will qualify.

The top four National Olympic Committees in the rankings will be given two berths, the next six one berth and the top six individual athletes remaining will round out the 20 spots.

The rankings will take into account all monobob and two-woman bobsleigh World Series events up to January 16.

The Series returns on November 20 with athletes taking to Innsbruck in Austria for a one-day event.
