The top four seeds won their groups on the opening day of the latest round of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 World Tour Abu Dhabi Masters.

Serbian side Ub, leaders of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Masters standings, topped Pool A after a narrow 13-12 triumph over Gagarin and a comfortable 22-14 victory over San Juan.

Russian side Gagarin secured second place in the group and progression to the knockout stages courtesy of a narrow 15-13 victory over Puerto Rican team San Juan.

In Pool B Latvian side Riga progressed as pool winners, overcoming Ulanbaatar 21-16 and Jeddah narrowly 20-19.

Mongolian outfit Ulaanbaatar sealed second in the group courtesy of their 18-15 win over Saudi Arabian team Jeddah.

In Pool C, Antwerp of Belgium won the group after defeating Utrecht 21-9 and Princeton 19-12.

American team Princeton claimed second place after defeating Dutch side Utrecht 9-7 in a low-scoring affair.

Serbian side Liman were victorious in Pool D, thanks to a 21-11 win over Manila of the Philippines and a 16-10 victory against Dutch side Amsterdam.

Amsterdam then took second place in the group after overcoming Manila 22-8 in the pool’s other match.

The top four seeds have been kept apart in the quarter-finals, where Ub face Princeton, Liman are up against Ulaanbaatar, Riga meet Amsterdam and Antwerp take on Gagarin.

Ub, with 330 points, lead the season standings by 45 points, after winning Masters events in Debrecen and Montreal earlier in the season.
