Topics were covered by FISU staff, FISU student ambassador administrators and FISU student ambassadors themselves.

Moderator Shonisani Masutha and programme administrators took the groups through sessions such as statistics of the student ambassador programme so far and spoke about future action plans.

FISU director of education and development, Lilia Barieva, expressed her gratitude for the student ambassadors and their work.

"I would like to thank those of you who joined us in 2020-2021," said Barieva.

"We thought 2020 would be tough, but it actually worked very well so thank you all very much for this as you helped us develop the programme even more.

"At FISU, we are really focused on developing university sport, which is not possible to do alone at our headquarters. 

"You, the FISU student ambassadors, are a great support to us and our National University Sports Federations (NUSF)."

Despite the pandemic, the programme grew to a total of 116 participants so far.

In a session facilitated by FISU student ambassador of Jamaica Tajae Wallace, tips on communications with NUSFs were given to webinar participants.

These were patience, preparation, consistency, professionalism and taking initiative.

FISU encouraged people to join its FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy, with its next sessions set to take place from September 8 to 10.
