Hungary’s Domonkos Németh leads the Under-23 Finn World Championship after dominating the opening day of racing in Lake Balaton.

The hosts enjoyed a successful start to the event with the top four positions occupied by their sailors after three races.

Németh triumphed in all three races to take control at the top of the standings.

His opening victory came in steady conditions, with compatriot Levente Rácz and Cyprus’ Panagiotis Iordanou rounding off the top three.

Németh led a Hungarian clean sweep in the second race, finishing in front of compatriots Bence Rácz and Ábel Szûcs.

There was a break in competition due to a thunderstorm, leading the third scheduled race of the day being postponed.

Sailors returned for a final race held in windy conditions with strong waves.
