Adam Murphy, Ryan Spelman, Andrew Sheehan and O'Reilly Fionn of Ireland were second in 6:12.84 with Liam Galloway, William Geib, Christian Tabash and Erik Spinka of the United States finishing third in 6:14.69.

Italy then claimed their second gold medal when Maria Zerboni and Samantha Premerl teamed up to win the lightweight women’s pair final.

The duo clocked a winning time of 7:31.61 in front of Antonia Michaels and Cecilia Sommerfeld of Germany and Bonnie Pushner and Lindsey Rust of the US who crossed the finish line in 7:38.01 and 7:41.94 respectively.

Italy’s third gold of the day came in the lightweight women’s quadruple sculls after Greta Martinelli, Ilaria Corazza, Elena Sali and Arianna Passini came out on top in 6:44.31.

Eva Hohoff, Romy Dreher, Natalie Weber and Antonia Wuerich clinched silver for Germany in 6:53.76 as the US team of Ruthie Lacy, Grace D'souza, Isabella Begley and Grace Beery came third in 7:09.43.

Chile denied Italy a fourth title when Manuel Fernandez Antri and Roberto Liewald edged out Simone Fasoli and Simone Mantegazza in the lightweight men’s pair final.

The bronze medal went to the Uzbekistani pairing of Shakhzod Nurmatov and Evgeniy Agafonov.

Ivana and Josipa Jurkovic of Croatia were crowned women’s pairs champions after beating Caitlin Esse and Lucy Koven of the US by more than two seconds.

Lena Sarassa and Hannah Reif of Germany secured third spot.

Adriana Surupaceanu, Ioana-Madalina Morosan, Lorena Constantin and Iuliana Timoc clinched victory for Romania in the women’s coxed four final after registering a time of 7:12.79.

Germany’s Tori Schwerin, Maike Boettcher, Magdalena Rabl and Anna Haendle were second in 7:14.63, with Italians Veronica Bumbaca, Khadija Alajdi El Idrissi, Laura Meriano and Clara Massaria third in 7:15.39.

Calvin Tarczy and Douwe De Graaf of Britain stormed to the men’s pairs title in a time of 6:30.73.

Dovydas and Domantas Stankunas were three seconds back in second position, while Kaan Aydin and Aydin Sahin were third.

Germany clinched victory in the lightweight men’s quadruple sculls final after Finn Wolter, Paul Leerkamp, Aaron Wenk and Julian Bothe came home in 5:56.23.

Pierrick Verger, Cornelus Palsma, Baptiste Savaete and Corentin Amet of France were second, while Matteo Tonelli, Giulio Acernese, Alessandro Benzoni and Giovanni Borgonovo claimed another medal for Italy with bronze.

The final race of the day was won by Switzerland as Salome Ulrich, Nina Wettstein, Lisa Loetscher and Celia Dupre triumphed in the women’s quadruple sculls final.

Germans Marie-Sophie Zeidler, Luise Bachmann, Tabea Kuhnert and Sarah Wibberenz came second, while Italians Sara Borghi, Lucrezia Baudino, Gaia Colasante and Vittoria Tonoli completed the podium.

Competition is due to conclude tomorrow with 13 A finals.
