Adam Meyers has been appointed as the new media liaison of Australian Taekwondo.

The former national champion and international medallist is an experienced social media marketer, and brings an extensive writing background to the organisation.

Meyers is also a club owner and coach and has a "great understanding of the taekwondo landscape" in Australia.

He is a published author who has experience producing websites, copy writing and creating media strategies for large and small businesses.

"Adam will be taking on our social media accounts as well as ensuring taekwondo gets as much press attention as possible now and into the future," Australian Taekwondo said.

Australia has qualified four athletes for this year's rearranged Tokyo 2020 Olympic tournament.

Safwan Khalil has earned a place in the men's under-58 kilograms while Jack Marton qualified in the men's under-80kg.

Stacey Hymer booked a spot in the women's under-57kg and will be joined by Reba Stewart in the women's over-67kg.

They all came through the Oceania Qualification Tournament in Gold Coast, held in February 2020.
