Dominican Republic thrashed Nicaragua to complete the super round line-up at the Americas Olympic baseball qualifier for Tokyo 2020 in Florida.

The 13-3 victory for Dominican Republic in the Group A clash at at St. Lucie County's Clover Park saw them join Canada, the United States and Venezuela in the next phase of the tournament.

Venezuela beat Canada 5-0 to complete their Group B campaign in style and ensure they carried over a 1-0 record into the super round.

The US, whose final group match against Puerto Rico has been rescheduled for tomorrow after being postponed due to bad weather, will also start the deciding stage of the competition on one victory following their win against Dominican Republic yesterday.

The result against the other qualifier from the same group has been carried over and will count towards the points tally in the super round.

The team which ends the super round at the top of the standings will qualify for the delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Organisers have also confirmed the schedule for the super round, which begins on Friday (June 4) with Dominican Republic versus Venezuela and Canada against the US.

Canada play Dominican Republic and the US entertain Venezuela on Saturday (June 5).

Teams finishing second and third after the super round will still have a chance to seal a place at Tokyo 2020 through the final qualifier, due to be held in Mexico next month.
