Paris 2024’s progress will be assessed when the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coordination Commission holds a meeting with organisers.

The fourth Coordination Commission meeting is set to begin tomorrow, led by chair Pierre-Olivier Beckers-Vieujant.

Last year’s meeting saw agreement to assess "new delivery opportunities" due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This led to Paris 2024 announcing amendments to the Games venue concept in November as part of efforts to make budget savings.

Changes included moving to temporary venues for the plans, as well as using one less football stadium.

Seven football venues for the Games were confirmed in December.

Paris 2024 will likely provide updates on construction projects for the Games, with the major building phase having been launched in March.

Construction is reportedly underway on 32 of the 60 proposed works.

This includes the four areas that make up the Athletes' Village in the municipalities of Saint-Denis, Saint-Ouen and Ile-Saint-Denis.

An update may potentially be given on the Media Village for the Games, after part of the environmental authorisation was suspended by the Paris Administrative Court of Appeal last month.

The Olympic Works Delivery Company, known as Solideo, was asked to provide further details to allow the work to resume.

Michel Cadot, interministerial delegate for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, told French newspaper L'Équipe this week that a decision is expected in the summer on whether construction can continue.

According to L'Équipe, Paris 2024 has been developing its part of the handover for the Tokyo 2020 Closing Ceremony, including a short film.

Paris 2024 organisers said in January this year that they are considering holding all or part of their Opening Ceremonies for the Games in the heart of the city.

The Seine is under consideration.

The concept may by discussed with the IOC Coordination Commission.

The Games mascot is reportedly being discussed also, with a decision possible by September.
