France’s Océanna Muller and Brian Baudouin triumphed in the mixed team 10 metres air rifle event at the European Shooting Championships in Osijek.

The French pairing advanced through two rounds of qualification to reach the final in the Croatian city.

A dominant performance in the gold-medal match saw Muller and Baudouin earn a comfortable 16-4 victory over rivals Anastasiia Galashina and Vladimir Maslennikov of Russia.

Russia’s second team of Yulia Karimova and Sergey Kamenskiy claimed the bronze medal, courtesy of a 16-6 win over Israel’s Tal Engler and Sergey Richter.

The mixed team 10m air pistol competition saw Russia’s Vitalina Batsarashkina and Artem Chernousov top the podium.

A close final saw the Russian team earn a 17-13 win over Serbia’s Zorana Arunovic and Damir Mikec.

Portugal’s Joana Castelão and João Costa secured a 16-14 victory against Austria’s Sylvia Steiner and Richard Zechmeister in the bronze-medal contest.

The first event of the day saw Hungary’s Soma Richard Hammerl produce a superb performance to win the men’s junior 50 metres rifle three positions title.

Hammerl finished the competition with a European junior record score of 464.8, surpassing the previous mark of 462.9 set by the Czech Republic’s Filip Nepejchal in 2019.

Russia’s Matvei Potapov was left settling for second place on a score of 457.4, with team mate Nikita Tursnov eliminated in third place on 445.2.

Russian shooters were again forced to settle for silver and bronze medals in the women’s junior skeet event.

Italy’s Sara Bongini triumphed in the final by hitting 47 of the 60 targets in the competition.

She ended two points clear of Russia’s Ariana Kuzentsova, who finished on 45.

Russia’s Daria Lekomtseva completed the top three, after being eliminated on a score of 39 points.

Italy’s Cristian Ghilli was a narrow winner of the men’s junior skeet competition.

He finished with a winning total of 53 points, with Cyprus’ Kleanthis Varnavides finishing in second place on 52.

Varnavides’ team-mate Petros Englezoudis completed the podium, after being eliminated on 44.
