Russia won gold medals today in the men's team air pistol and women's team air rifle competitions at the European Shooting Championships in Osijek in Croatia.

In the men's 10-metre air pistol team competition, Russians Artem Chernousov, Vadim Mukhametyanov and Anton Aristarhov won the gold medal.

They beat Italy's Paolo Monna, Giuseppe Giordano and Alessio Torracchi by a score of 17-7 in the final.

The Turkish trio of Serdar Demirel, Ismail Keles and Yusuf Dikec claimed the bronze medal with a 16-14 victory over Ukraine's Oleh Omelchuk, Viktor Bankin and Maksym Horodynets.

In the following final of the women's 10m air rifle team competition, Yulia Zykova, Anastasiia Galashina and Yulia Karimova of Russia thumped the Slovenian team of Urska Kuharic, Ziva Dvorsak and Klavdija Jerovsek 6-2.


In the bronze-medal match, Romanians Laura-Georgeta Ilie, Roxana Sidi and Eliza Alexandra Molnar defeated Norway's Jeanette Hegg Duestad, Katrine Lund and Jenny Stene 16-12.

In the women's junior 50m rifle three positions final, Eszter Meszaros won the gold by more than two points with a total score of 458.6 in teh final round.

Spain's Helena Arias Casals was the runner-up and Russia's Alina Khizbullina won bronze, some way back.

Mixed team 10m air pistol and mixed team 10m air rifle finals headline tomorrow schedule in Osijek.
