Olympic silver medallist Chris Mazdzer and World Championships bronze medallist Emily Sweeney headline the 14-strong team named by USA Luge for the 2021-2022 season.

Five-time World Cup winner Summer Britcher, three-time World Cup winner Tucker West, and World Cup and World Championship medallist Jayson Terdiman have also been selected to represent the US in a campaign that culminates with the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.

Jonny Gustafson, who claimed the second tier Nations Cup title in 2020, is among the other athletes on the squad.

Brittney Arndt, Ashley Farquharson, Sean Hollander, Zack DiGregorio, Dana Kellogg and Chevonne Forgan are set to make the step up from junior level to the senior team.

Eight World Cup events have been scheduled by the International Luge Federation for the 2021-2022 season.

The campaign is due to open in Yanqing, the venue for sliding sports at Beijing 2022, in late November.

USA Luge skipped the first four World Cup competitions last season over COVID-19 fears and did not compete on the circuit until January of this year.
