In the women's K2 500 metres semi-finals, Germany's Sabrina Hering-Pradler and Tina Dietze head in as the fastest pair for the A final tomorrow, having clocked a time of 1min 43.88sec in the second race.

They will be joined by Poland's Justyna Iskrzycka and Helena Wisniewska and Czech Republic's Stepanka Sobiskova and Barbora Galadova who were second and third in the race.

In the first semi-final, Slovenia's Spela Ponomarenko Janic and Anja Osterman won in 1:44.74 and made the final with Belgium's Hermien Peters and Lize Broekx and Manon Hostens and Sarah Guyot of France.

Denmark's Julie Froelund Funch and Bolette Nyvang Iversen won the last semi-final in 1:46.71, progressing with Polish pair Dominika Putto and Katarzyna Kolodziejcyk and Ukraine's Mariya Povkh and Mariia Kichasova-Skoryk.

Home favourite Balint Kopasz of Hungary was the fastest qualifier in the men's K1 1,000m in 3:38.63 and will be joined by Artuur Peters and Denis Mysak of Belgium and Slovakia respectively in the final.

Czech Republic's Josef Dostal finished just ahead of Fernando Pimenta of Portugal in the second semi-final, with the pair being joined by Dostal's compatriot Jakub Spicar in the final.

Jacob Schopf won the first semi-final in 3:46.45 ahead of Belarus' Aleh Yurenia and Serbia's Bojan Zdelar.

In the men's C1 1,000m, Moldova's Serghei Tarnovschi finished just ahead of France's Adrien Bart in a time of 3:57.66 with both being joined by Conrad-Robin Scheibner in the final, who was more than five seconds adrift.

Brazil's Isaquias Queiroz Dos Santos won the first semi-final in 3:59.66 ahead of Czech Republic's Martin Fuska and the distant Mateusz Kaminski of Poland.

Cuba's Jose Ramon Pelier Cordova won the third semi-final in 4:01.86 and is joined in the final by Filip Dvorak of the Czech Republic and Romania's Constantin Diba.

Finally, Norway's Lars Magne Ullvang heads into the men's K1 500m final as the fastest qualifier after clocking a time of 1:42.34 in the second semi-final ahead of Germany's Moritz Willi Florstedt and Victor Gairy Aasmul of Denmark, who progressed too.

In the last semi-final, Bence Nadas won for Hungary in 1:42.77 with Denmark's Rene Holten Poulsen and Martin Nathell making the final.

Italy's Alessandro Gnecchi claimed victory in the first semi-final in 1:42.80 - being joined by Hungary's Benedek Tibor Kos and Poland's Slawomir Witczak in the final.
