The International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ) has published its first sustainable development handbook as part of its efforts to make sure its stakeholders are more environmentally and socially conscious.

According to the FITEQ, the handbook outlines sustainable development goals that are directly relevant to teqball and provides clear guidance on the organisation's commitment in each area.

It also proposes practical solutions that stakeholders can adopt and implement, including at clubs and during major competitions.

The release of the document follows FITEQ becoming a signatory of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in September of last year.

FITEQ head of diplomatic relations and CSR Gergely Murányi said the organisation was hoping to make a "real difference" with the launch of the handbook.

"We have channelled our thoughts into the FITEQ sustainable development handbook, outlining how the experience we have gained can help our stakeholders contribute to a more sustainable future," said Murányi.

"We are not expecting wholesale change or major investment.

"However, we are expecting all of our partners to show a long-term commitment to being more sustainable.

"Start small, or start big - it’s entirely up to you.

"But make sure to start somewhere.

"It is great to see that the world is gaining a better understanding of the urgent need to act on climate change.

"A significant part of this important shift in mind-set can be attributed to young people.

"But to protect their future, and their children’s future, we have no time to waste and we must all act now.

"In the collective journey towards a more sustainable future, FITEQ will be with all of its stakeholders every step of the way."
