Brazil and hosts Mexico clinched the men's and women's team recurve titles, respectively, at the Pan and Parapan American Archery Championships in Monterrey.

The Brazilian trio of Marcelo Costa, Marcus Vinicius D'Almeida and Bernardo Oliveira outclassed Santiago Arcila, Jorge Antonio Enriquez and Daniel Pineda 6-2 in the men's recurve final.

Ángel Alvarado, Luis Álvarez and Carlos Rojas delivered a medal for the host nation after they overcame Cuba 5-4 in a tight battle for bronze.

The Mexican women fared better than their male counterparts as they took gold by virtue of a 6-2 win over Colombia.

Aida Roman, Alejandra Valencia and Ana Vazquez proved too strong for Valentina Acosta Giraldo, Valentina Contreras and Ana Rendon to ensure they finished at the top of the podium.

Brazil, beaten by the eventual winners in the semi-finals, recovered to win bronze as Marina Canetta, Ane Marcelle dos Santos and Ana Machado beat Canada 6-2.

The men's and women's team compound finals went to the form book as Colombia sealed both gold medals.

Led by world number two Sara López, Colombia's women, also represented by Alejandra Usquiano and Nora Valdez, despatched Mexico's Andrea Becerra, Esmerelda Sanchez and Margarita Valencia 225-217.

Puerto Rico's Marla Cintron, Maria Latorre and Paola María Ramírez earned bronze.

Sebastian Arenas, Juan Fernando Binolla and Daniel Muñoz secured the men's team compound title for Colombia with a 231-221 victory over Roberto Hernández, Douglas Vladimir Nolasco and Miguel Ángel Veliz of El Salvador.

Juan del Río, Antonio Hidalgo and Uriel Olvera claimed bronze for Mexico.

Danny Quintero of Colombia won the men's title in the barebow discipline after sweeping Roberto Escamilla of Mexico 6-0 in the final.

The bronze medal went to Uruguay's Sebastian Sorribas, who beat Leal Manuel Fabian of Mexico 6-4.

Fabienne Estrada thrashed compatriot Maria Mata 6-0 in an all-Mexican barebow final.

The race for Olympic and Paralympic qualification is due to commence when the Championships resume tomorrow.
