The Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSC) has been gifted megaphones by car manufacturer Toyota.

The CNOSC received the amplification devices in a ceremony at its headquarters in capital city Yaoundé on Tuesday (January 26).

They are to be "distributed to the Cameroon sporting federations, to serve as working equipment", according to the CNOSC.

Cameroon is currently staging the African Nations Championship football tournament - one of the continent's biggest sporting events.

The African Nations Championship is the continent's second-tier international tournament, only open to domestic-based players, and the host nation has reached the quarter-finals.

CNOSC President Hamad Kalkaba Malboum met FIFA counterpart Gianni Infantino when he visited Cameroon on the eve of the tournament and watched the first match.

Cameroon has sent athletes to every Summer Olympics since Tokyo 1964, plus the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Games.

Weightlifter Madias Nzesso won the nation's last medal - bronze at London 2012 - and the men's football team won Cameroon's first gold medal at Sydney 2000.
