The Bhutan Taekwondo Federation (BTF) has held its 2020 Civil Service Award Ceremony, honouring 10 staff members for their dedication to the sport.

BTF held the ceremony at the Conference Hall of the Bhutan Taekwondo Federation, with BTF secretary general Yonten Tharchen hosting the event.

A total of 10 BTF employees were awarded medals for their continuous service - honouring anniversaries of 10 years, 20 years and 30 years in Bhutanese taekwondo.

Karma Yoezer of the BTF office, was the only recipient to be recognised for 30 years of service.

Karma Phuntsho of Trashi Yangtse Dzongkhag, Karma Wangdi of Paro Dzongkhag, Deo Kumar Rai of Bumthang Dzongkhag and Tshewang Chimi of Mongar Dzongkhag all received recognition for 20 years of service to the sport.

Sangay Tshering of Trongsa Dzongkhag, Sonam Penjor of Punashka Dzongkhag, Tshering Choki of Bumthang Dzongkhag, Pem Choki of the BTF office and Sonam Wangmo also of the BTF office, were recognised for 10 years of service.

This award ceremony was initiated in 2013 on the command of the King of Bhutan, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

Tharchen said the awards ceremony was an "excellent occasion" for recipients from different regions of the country to pay tribute and continue their commitments and loyalty to taekwondo in Bhutan.

He also congratulated the recipients for their recognition.
