The European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships is set to welcome back Romanian four-time world medallist Larisa Iordache, who makes her return to the sport after three years away from competition.

A London 2012 team bronze medallist from the Olympics, Iordache is a three-time European champion in artistic gymnastics.

She won the 2012 and 2014 titles on floor and the 2013 title on beam, but has been sidelined by injury since tearing her achilles tendon at the 2017 World Championships.

The Romanian team will also consist of team-mates Daniela Trica and junior stars Silviana Sfiringu, Ioana Stanciulescu and Antonia Duta, with the latter three set to make their senior debut.

Ukraine's experienced team will be led by Angelina Radivilova, Anastasia Bachynska and Diana Varinska complemented by the talent of Anastasia Motak and Yelizaveta Hubareva.

Another team that looks to make the podium at Mersin's Gymnastics Hall in Turkey, is Hungary.

Their team consists of Zoja Szekely, Zsófia Kovács, Mirtill Makovits, Dorina Böczögő and Csenge Bácskay.

Turkey's lead name is Göksu Üçtaş Şanlı.

Other competitors who could feature in the individual events include Aneta Holasova of the Czech Republic, Austria's Elisa Hämmerle, Azerbaijan's Marina Nekrasova, Latvia's Elina Vihrova, Israel's Lihie Raz and Croatia's Ana Derek.

Sixteen federations are travelling to Turkey for the competition, with a total of 88 gymnasts scheduled to compete - 42 juniors and 46 seniors.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, many leading nations in Europe will not make the trip to Turkey, including Britain and Italy.
