Yonex has been announced as the official equipment supplier for next year's rearranged Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour Finals in Bangkok.

The season-ending event in the Thai capital is currently scheduled to go ahead between January 27 and 31.

Badminton equipment will be provided to players and technical officials as part of the deal, with Yonex already a long-standing supporter of major BWF tournaments.

"Yonex has been an innovator in the development of badminton equipment and continues to blaze the trail in revolution and technology," said BWF secretary general Thomas Lund.

"We are thrilled to have Yonex on board for badminton's much anticipated return, in particular the staging of our signature event of the season, the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals."

Kusaki Hayashida, the President of Yonex, added: "Yonex looks forward to working with BWF, all athletes and officials so that the wonderfulness and enjoyment of badminton can be experienced again by badminton fans around the world."

The World Tour Finals invites the top eight singles players and doubles teams in each category, following the end-of-season rankings.

Only two players or pairs are allowed from the same country, with Bangkok due to host the final two qualifying events in the days leading up to the Finals.

Players hoping to appear in the Finals must also enter these competitions - the Yonex Thailand Open and the Toyota Thailand Open.

Guangzhou had been due to hold the Finals from December 16 to 20 but the Chinese Government banned most sporting events in the remainder of 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
