Continental qualifiers for the 2021 World Rowing Indoor Championships are due to take place in Oceania and Europe this weekend.

The Oceania event, hosted by the New Zealand Indoor Rowing Association, takes place tomorrow, while the European event is set to span both Saturday and Sunday (December 5 and 6).

British Rowing is hosting the European event and both are being staged online.

Some 42 nations have entered the European competition.

Anyone who can access a Concept2 static rowing machine was able to enter and can compete from anywhere in the world, assuming they qualify to represent a country in the respective continental regions.

Next year's World Rowing Indoor Championships will be a virtual event held in late February.

World Rowing hopes this will promote indoor rowing better to lower levels of ability, while it also means the event can take place in spite of the coronavirus pandemic.

This year, the Indoor World Rowing Championships were held in Paris in early February.
