Vanessa Sarno of the Philippines earned three gold medals in an entertaining women's 71 kilogram contest at the International Weightlifting Federation Online Youth World Cup.
Sarno started the competition well, achieving a perfect record in the snatch to lift the winning weight of 93kg.
Nigora Suvonova of Uzbekistan was just behind her with a lift of 91kg, followed by Nancy Abouke of Naura on 90kg.
It went down to the final lift in the clean and jerk, with Suvonova needing to carry off her final attempt of 119kg to top the podium.
She failed, giving Sarno, who had successfully lifted 118kg, the gold medal.
Suvonova had to settle for silver with her second round attempt of 117kg, while Abouke picked up bronze once again with 110kg.
The same three athletes filled the overall podium, with Sarno clinching gold with a total of 211kg.
Suvonova took her third silver of the day with 208kg, followed by Abouke in third on 200kg.
The men's 89kg competition was dominated by Maksim Moguchev, who eventually finished 34kg clear of his competitors.
The Russian triumphed in the snatch with a lift of 150kg.
In second was Hakan Kurnaz of Turkey on 140kg, while Cheng Chi-wei of Chinese Taipei claimed bronze after lifting 136kg.
Moguchev impressed with a lift of 185kg in the clean and jerk and was trailed by Cheng with a successful 170kg lift.
Georgi Yochev of Bulgaria was the bronze medallist with 166kg.
Kurnaz completely fell away in the latter half of the competition, failing to register a single lift in the clean and jerk.
As a consequence, his snatch results were not included in the overall standings.
Moguchev topped the leaderboard with a total of 335kg, followed by Cheng on 306kg and Yochev on 301kg.
The results did little to change the medal table.
Mexico still lead with seven gold medals, two silver and five bronze.
Competition is scheduled to continue tomorrow with the men's 96kg, followed by the women's 76kg and the men's 102kg.
